Project overview

Urban Street Designs worked on this Public Funded Project with Rossendale Council and Landscape Architect Rachael Gildert of Proffitts – Investing in Communities.

The Planters had a dual role to play in the project, one of which was to create a barrier from the car park and the other was to bring in well needed planting space to add colour from plants and shrubs and enough depth to accept small trees. It was a true community project with children from the local school arriving on site to install the plants, giving them a connection to the play area.

As we worked so closely with the project at Waterfoot, we offered to produce a Laser Cut Corten and Stainless Steel Backed sign to tie the planters at the entrance of the Park to the sloped stone ramp that provides an exit at the opposite end.

The older residents had always referred to the space as “Mytholme” so it was only right to keep some tradition in the much needed New Play Area.
